  • It's Here—The New It Winter Color Trend That Looks Insanely Expensive

It's Here—The New It Winter Color Trend That Looks Insanely Expensive

    [ad_1]

As someone who works in fashion, I love trends—especially color trends. They’re just so easy to incorporate into your wardrobe and they can be in the form of something as minor as a pair of socks or as major as a coat. You can wear color trends head-to-toe or just a splash. The possibilities are endless.

As I’m sure you’re aware, 2023 has been all about red. That’s still very much the case, but now there’s another color trend threatening to steal some of its thunder, and it even looks more expensive than red. That color is chocolate brown. The hue that in the past might’ve been considered “ugly” or “boring” is now one of the most sought-after colors of the season. As evidence, I’ve noticed lately that 90% of the time when an item comes in multiple colors, and chocolate brown is one of them, it’s sold out. Celebrities and fashion people have been wearing it as much as they wear camel and black all of a sudden.

All signs are pointing to chocolate brown being the most lavish-looking color trend of the season. And I have no problem investing in it, as it’s timeless and versatile to boot. Scroll on to see how celebs and influencers are styling it and shop some of the chicest chocolate brown pieces on the market.

  • I Found the Chicest Shoes at Nordstrom's Limited-Time Sale—Enjoy

    I Found the Chicest Shoes at Nordstrom's Limited-Time Sale—Enjoy

    [ad_1]

It’s one of those days when I feel like the universe is messing with me. I recently did a ruthless cull of my fall and winter footwear, settling on a chic capsule of just five perfect pairs (and a search for just one more) that truly are all I need. Now, the trouble with telling the world about this is that I’ve backed myself into a corner where I really can’t make any sneaky additional shoe purchases—which was the whole point, to be fair.

And now, just when I thought I was in the clear after commendably making it through Black Friday and Cyber Monday without so much as *harmlessly* popping a pair of shoes in my cart, Nordstrom decided to go ahead and have another massive surprise sale, seemingly in an attempt to ruin me. In lieu of shopping for myself, I’ve thrived in curating the tip-top pairs for you out of everything that’s on sale: chic flats, black boots, Mary Janes, modern heels that feel special (but aren’t doing too much). For the record, all of these would slip very nicely into my capsule wardrobe, which is exactly what will be happening as soon as a spot opens up.

Reformation's Massive Sale Is Here—These 24 Timeless Items Will Fly Out of Stock

    [ad_1]

As you probably know, Reformation isn’t one of those sites that has a sale section year-round. In fact, there are just a couple of big seasonal sales throughout the year, but the discounts are really good when they happen. Ref’s epic fall sale is officially here, and lots of dresses and tops, sweaters, outerwear, shoes, and much more are up to 40% off. The only problem is that there’s a lot to choose from. (Disclaimer: All of it is final sale, so choose wisely.) That’s where I come in.

I scoured the stock today to select 24 of the best pieces to fill your cart with. I was truly shocked that some of these pieces were still in stock at these prices. That probably won’t be the case for long, so you might not want to delay. Trust me—you wouldn’t want to return these wildly inexpensive gems even if you could.

  • This Wintry Fragrance Note Can Smell Tacky, But Not in These 9 Scents

This Wintry Fragrance Note Can Smell Tacky, But Not in These 9 Scents

    [ad_1]

Wintry fragrances always run the risk of being a bit too holiday heavy. Too many notes like cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla can make you smell like a cookie exchange rather than a serious person. There’s one note, in particular, that can make you smell like the inside of a snow globe if it’s done wrong: pine.

Pine scents can get a bad rep for being too holiday-centric. It makes sense. When we think of pine trees, we often think of everything they’re associated with. That means Christmas trees, ski lodges, and cloying candles. If pine is done right, however, it can transform a scent into something woodsy, mysterious, and unique.

Below, find the absolute best pine-scented fragrances on the market. Don’t worry—you won’t smell like Buddy the Elf threw up on you. These scents are all refined and subtle and can even be worn outside of the colder months.

  • I Spot These Sweaters at Least Once a Day in NYC—These 24 Are Worth the Hype

I Spot These Sweaters at Least Once a Day in NYC—These 24 Are Worth the Hype

    [ad_1]

This time of year, about three-fourths of my closet space is taken up by my sweaters. It’s a collection I’ve been slowly and patiently building for my entire adult life. Everything good takes time, and knits aren’t a wardrobe area to cut corners on—ever. I have $10 cashmere from my local Goodwills, $100 knits accumulated over the years from various sales, and a $1000 sweater that took a significant amount of courage to press purchase on. I wear them all equally, and one look around New York City tells me that I’m not the only one.

My sweater collection isn’t unique, and that’s okay. I see many of the knits I wear on repeat all across the city, from uptown to downtown. Like you do when you drive past someone in your same car, there’s usually a subtle moment of recognition between me and the other person. They’re in on the ultimate fashion secret. The guide below allows you to be in on it too. From affordable offerings at Nordstrom and J.Crew and lavish investments from Khaite and The Row to fashion-insider picks like Almina Concept and Almada Label, everything you need to build a sweater collection people will stop you on the street about is one scroll away.

This Top-Selling Flat Shoe Trend Is Officially Royalty-Approved

When I found out that Who What Wear readers have been loving these on-sale Franco Sarto shoes from Nordstrom, I immediately thought of Queen Letizia. She recently wore the very same trend—lug-sole loafers—to great effect. While you can reliably find her in pointy-toe pumps, she gave her feet a break in a pair of Martinelli loafers while attending a journalism seminar in Logrono, Spain.

To complete the look, Queen Letizia wore a Lottusse leather trench coat, Pomandère trousers, a Nina Ricci handbag, and Gold & Roses earrings. While I love a good tiara moment as much as the next person, I’m always intrigued to see what royals wear for more casual occasions. In this instance, her trousers and flat shoes strike the perfect balance between formality and approachability.

I Zoomed In on Every Spring 2024 Runway Look—10 Jewelry Trends I'm Obsessed With

    [ad_1]

Everyone at Who What Wear, myself included, has talked at length about the trends we saw on the runways in September, when designers across New York, London, Milan, and Paris debuted their S/S 24 collections for the fashion world to see. One thing we haven’t spent a significant amount of time and energy studying is the jewelry they presented along with all those black-cherry jackets, micro co-ords, and overstuffed handbags. Well, I had some free time this week, so I thought I’d fill that void.

In the time that I should have been gift shopping and planning holiday events (and outfits), I instead zoomed in on thousands of runway images from the S/S 24 shows, sorting my earring, necklace, and bracelet findings into trend categories. That way, by the time spring eventually comes around, you won’t have to scramble to fill up your jewelry box with up-to-date pieces. My findings? Well, you’ll have to read about those below.

11 Pieces Everyone Is Losing It Over From This Viral Revolve Brand's New Drop

    [ad_1]

In case you had any doubt, it turns out that Elsa Hosk is as good of a designer as she is a model. Her wildly chic and trend-forward line Helsa has become a major stand-out at Revolve and FWRD since its debut last fall, and it routinely flies out of stock when new pieces drop. Accordingly, Helsa is a regular topic of conversation among our editors on Slack.

The latest Helsa drop is appropriately coined “New York for the Holidays”, and it’s filled with elegant, festive pieces that are perfect for special occasions and nights out, or just winter. I scrolled through the collection and unfortunately, some of the pieces are already out of stock after debuting just a few days ago, but not to worry because I found a handful of in-stock items that are jaw-droppingly good. Keep scrolling to shop they before they too are gone.

9 Chic Sweater Outfit Ideas That Are Giving Rich Mom Energy

If you ever find yourself on Park Avenue on New York City’s Upper East Side or the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, you’ll see the “rich mom” aesthetic in action, and the appeal will become clear. The trending aesthetic is posh and elegant, but still functional and ready to face whatever the day may hold, because, well, kids. But as we all know, you don’t have to be a rich mom to dress like one. You don’t even have to be rich.

If there’s one thing that rich moms love, it’s a chic, polished sweater outfit. And just in time for the impending winter (sorry, but it’s almost here), I took a nice long scroll through Instagram and found a handful of easy sweater outfits that are giving rich mom energy through and through. • Fashion People Know That These Odd Color Combinations Hit Every Time

Fashion People Know That These Odd Color Combinations Hit Every Time

    [ad_1]

In the last few years, I’ve had to rewire the entire part of my brain that’s dealt with colors, specifically, the art of combining them. Growing up, there were so many pairings that fashion made out to be undesirable if only because they clashed. Wearing them together was as much a sartorial sin as wearing white after Labor Day (another rule I’ve since thrown out). But nowadays, those once-forbidden combinations are the exact ones I’m drawn to most, from neutrals like brown and gray to bolder duets like purple and green.

Now that I’ve given up every last morsel of trained disdain for unexpected or clashing color pairings, I’m much more open to them, so when I see them on the runways or in my Instagram feed, I don’t look away but rather save them for later inspiration. I want to wear red with gold, brown, and gray, but I’m also not scared to style the trending color with even louder shades like pink. I embrace it, and so do fashion people all over the world, from Copenhagen to Paris. See for yourself by scrolling through the nine oddly satisfying color combinations that the style crowd wears on repeat.

Put a Ring on It—39 Engagement Rings Any Fashion Person Would Love

    [ad_1]

We’ve entered that time of year. No, we’re not talking about the holidays. We’re referring to the start of engagement season. Statistically speaking, we see the largest number of proposals between November and February. And for those who are planning a proposal (or awaiting one), it can be overwhelming. Perhaps the most trying aspect of all is finding the engagement ring.

First of all, you have to address a learning curve when it comes to shopping for diamond rings, from understanding the four Cs (cut, color, clarity, and carat) to researching what constitutes a conflict-free and ethically made piece. Once you know what to look for, you still have to consider your budget, the brand name, and your partner’s personal preferences. All of this is to say that shopping for an engagement ring is not an easy task, and it can become even more challenging if you’re shopping for someone picky. We all know that any ultra-stylish soon-to-be-engaged person won’t settle for a basic cookie-cutter ring.

Unless they sent you precisely what they want or you already know what you want, we can guess that you clicked on this article because you’re stressed about looking for a ring. In order to make the process easier, we’ve done some research to find 39 unique engagement rings on the market right now. Whether you’re hoping to find the perfect engagement ring for your partner, helping someone pick one for a loved one, or trying to drop hints that they need to hurry up and put a ring on it, there’s something ahead for everyone.

Everyone Is Wearing These Two “Boring” Colors With Red

    [ad_1]

As you know, red is the color of the season—maybe even the year. And I’d be remiss not to point out some commonalities with how people are wearing the It color. And the fact of the matter is, it may seem like stating the obvious, but somebody’s gotta do it.

My Instagram feed is currently filled with crimson outfits. Some are head-to-toe but most contain just splashes of red—whether in the form of a sweater, a pair of shoes, a bag, and so on. And more often than not, those red splashes are paired with one of two “boring” colors: gray or black. Groundbreaking, right? The thing that is interesting is that wearing gray or black ultimately allows red to shine. Nothing is competing with it for attention. It’s basically saying “I’m wearing an It color and that’s what I want you to notice.” All of the outfits below confirm this, so have a scroll and see for yourself. And while you’re at it, shop the best black, gray, and red pieces to wear together.
