‘Honkai Star Rail’ Luka Character Revealed at Summer Game Fest, PS5 Version Coming Later – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

At Summer Game Fest, we had more interesting mobile announcements than I expected following news from Marvel Snap and FF7 Ever Crisis. HoYoverse showcased a new trailer for the space fantasy turn-based RPG Honkai Star Rail revealing a new character and also confirming the PS5 version’s release window. When Honkai Star Rail comes to PS5 in Q4 2023, it will have cross save and cross play support with iOS, Android, and PC platforms. I’m definitely going to move to playing it on both iPad and PS5 when that happens. This trailer showcases Luka and also Yukong who are upcoming characters following the Honkai Star Rail 1.1 update. Watch the Honkai Star Rail Summer Game Fest 2023 and PS5 release trailer below:

Honkai Star Rail is available for free on the App Store for iOS here, on Google Play for Android here, and check it here on the Epic Games Store in addition to its regular PC version. I didn’t expect news this soon after the Honkai Star Rail 1.1 update, but it made sense to have this reveal at Summer Game Fest 2023. I was surprised that the PS5 version is coming so late though. I expected it in the next month or two. Have you been playing Honkai Star Rail regularly since it launched on mobile and PC?

Peak of Combat’ Pre-Orders Now Live on the App Store, December Release Date Listed – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Capcom and Nebula Joy have been working on Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat (), a mobile entry in the brilliant Devil May Cry series, for a while now. It has seen betas, soft launches, and more over the years, but it has finally gone up for pre-order on the App Store for iOS as of this week. Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat is an official mobile game aiming to deliver a proper action RPG experience with classic characters, weapons, bosses, and more. It will feature a brand new story and be a free to play game with optional in app purchases. The official website and trailers so far have confirmed that Dante, Nero, Vergil, and Lady will be present. The App Store pre-order page has a December 2nd release date listed, but this should be considered placeholder since nothing official has been announced. Watch a recent Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat trailer showcasing Dante in combat below:

Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat is not the first mobile game in the series because we’ve had a version of DMC 4 on the platform years ago. Those times were different on mobile for sure, especially for Capcom. Until we get an official release date, you can pre-register for Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat on the official website here, pre-order it on the App Store for iOS here. Pre-registering nets you different rewards like gems, red orbs, potions, and more as detailed on the official website. Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat features different in app purchases like seasonal cards, gift packs, and different sets of devil gems. Devil May Cry 5 is one of my favorite games of all time so I will definitely try out Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat when it releases on iOS. Last week, Hamster and SNK released Crossed Swords ACA NeoGeo on mobile. Read Shaun’s review of it here. Ever since I started paying attention to the ACA NeoGeo games on Switch many years ago, I’ve been glad that so many games I hadn’t ever heard of, are preserved on modern consoles and more recently mobile. With so many games releasing on the ACA or Arcade Archives lineup, I’ve been buying the ones Shaun recommends if I haven’t heard of them. Hamster and SNK have now brought the 1992-released sports game Football Frenzy to iOS and Android as a premium release. Football Frenzy lets you pick one of 10 teams to compete in a championship with. It aimed to deliver different play patterns and offer realistic games back when it released. It also supports two player versus mode. Football Frenzy, out now, includes the usual features in Hamster’s ACA NeoGeo releases on mobile, and the publisher continues to improve controller support across the releases through updates. If you’ve not kept up with the series and want to know which ones to grab first on mobile, read Shaun’s new feature here covering the 10 best games on mobile. A screenshot from the Android version of Football Frenzy is below:

You can buy Football Frenzy ACA NeoGeo on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. As with prior releases on mobile, this costs half of what it does on consoles at $3.99. Honkai Star Rail is a lot of fun, and today pre-installation has gone live for the game’s 1.1 update. The download size for the update is about 4.5GB on iPad and 7.5GB on PC. Originally scheduled for last week, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company delayed the major update for Pokemon Home (Free) on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch to this week. The update has now gone live as Pokemon Home 3.0.0 bringing in compatibility with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet finally. If you’ve not gotten that on Switch yet, read Shaun’s review here. Pokemon Home 3.0.0 also lets you view the stats of a Pokemon from different games it has been in alongside adding in new challenges and stickers. If you play Pokemon GO, you can bring Gimmighoul (roaming form) into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through Pokemon Home with this update. Check out the chart below for Pokemon Home 3.0.0:

It feels like a lot of updates and content for or around Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are taking longer than expected to arrive following its launch from November 2022. I enjoyed my time with Pokemon Violet, but it is one of the least-polished games I’ve played in years and it still runs badly months later. Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales Update Releases on June 7th for All Platforms – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Mojang and Microsoft previously revealed the official name and more details for the Minecraft ($6.99) 1.20 update. The Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update was confirmed for release this year, and it has been confirmed to release on June 7th worldwide. If you’ve not kept up with the main game recently, it had a Dungeons and Dragons collaboration recently announced with the iOS version even getting keyboard and mouse support a little while ago. The Minecraft Trails and Tales update includes a new biome, new mobs, blocks, new ways to shape your own game story, and more. The update will bring in the bamboo and cherry wood sets, the ability to build a raft, and a lot more. Watch the showcase for the update below:

More details for the update including mobs and what players can expect for the library are here on the official blog post. If you’ve not played Minecraft for a while, now is a great time to jump in. I’m interested to see what else comes to Minecraft this year following the 1.20 Trails and Tales update. While I think Microsoft will want everyone to stream it, I still would love to see Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends hit iOS and Android with cross play. The Microsoft and Bethesda showcase is also very soon, so we likely will have more Minecraft announcements there. Have you played Minecraft recently on mobile on any other platform and what do you think of the Minecraft Legends?
