Sylvia Cesaratto: Canada’s consul general cites business, financial, visitor ties

As Canada’s consul general in Miami, Sylvia Cesaratto is set to build on the consulate’s solid foundation with Florida and take the relationship to new heights. 

With Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands under the consulate’s purview, Ms. Cesaratto will continue to build on the already strong partnerships and relationships and keep Canada a top source country for tourists, economic partners, and staunch allies on security and military defense. 

Ms. Cesaratto, a multi-lingual senior executive, has extensive overseas experience in delivering Canada’s foreign policy, international business and international development priorities. She has led multicultural and multi-functional teams to deliver results on behalf of stakeholders in all sectors.

Her first international assignment was in South Africa following the lifting of economic sanctions. Other overseas assignments have included London, Brussels, and as Canada’s ambassador in Panama. Ms. Cesaratto was most recently the director general for Central America and the Caribbean.
