Super Duper Burgers to open newest SF location this week

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Local burger chain Super Duper Burgers is opening a new location in San Francisco’s Sunset District this week. The restaurant at 737 Irving St. will open this Friday, Nov. 1, the business announced in a news release.

The San Francisco-founded burger chain says the first 50 guests will receive a free burger as part of the grand opening. The Super Duper replaces the space last occupied by Fresca Restaurant, which closed last year.

The Irving Street Super Duper will be open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., a company spokesperson said.

The Sunset location marks the eighth Super Duper in San Francisco. Residents in the neighborhood can enjoy another burger spot as the only other existing one in the area is Jenny’s Burger on 9th Avenue.

Super Duper opened its first location in 2010 in San Francisco’s Castro District. With the addition of the Irving Street location, that would mark the 18th Super Duper Burgers in the Bay Area — as far north as Napa and south as Los Gatos.

KRON4 first reported about the Super Duper coming to the Sunset District back in August.
