Summer Surges Back Into Carolinas – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

[ad_1]

You have the green light for all outdoor plans this weekend, but it’s going to be hot.

The final full weekend of August is off to a fantastic start as clear skies and low humidity continue their dominance over the Carolinas. Unfortunately for those who have enjoyed the fall-like temperatures over the past week, the cooler air is losing its grip on our area. Highs will surge into the upper 80s across the Piedmont and Foothills Sunday afternoon as the High Country approaches 80° to close out the weekend. While temperatures return to above-average values to kick off the workweek, humidity levels will lag behind – enjoy the drier air while it lasts.

If the Metro doesn’t crack 90° on Sunday, it almost certainly will on Monday. Highs will continue their upward trend as we move into the heart of August’s final week, likely crescendoing into the upper 90s on Wednesday and Thursday. Quantifiable rain chances finally return by the end of the week, although they won’t be especially high.

Tonight: Clear and cool. Low: 61°. Wind: NE 5-10.

Sunday: Warm sunshine. High: 87°. Wind: NE 5-10.

Sunday Night: Another nice night. Low: 63°. Wind: Light.

Monday: Remaining sunny. Getting hot. High: 90°. Wind: SE 5-10.
