StretchLab, a local fitness studio that caters to stretching the body, is offering free 25-minute sessions at its Rittenhouse Square location in celebration of its one-year anniversary. On Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, the stretch studio is hosting StretchFest where clients can sign up to get the full experience of its services.

“People can come in whether they want to work on something preventative, performance-related or for recovery,” said Michael Orenstein, general manager of StretchLab in Rittenhouse Square. “We guide them using assessment tools and a specific structure to help relieve any tension with stress and help them feeling their best.”

Using revolutionary 3D body scanning technology, StretchLab and their Flexologists, professional stretchers, use the information to tailor a session that specifically targets the joints and muscles that are in need of stretching in a client’s body.

“This technology is what makes StretchLab unique,” said Joel Hashem, lead Flexologist at StretchLab on Walnut Street. He’s been a Flexologist for two years and has worked in the physical therapy field for nearly 15 years. “

Stretching can improve sports performance, increase range of motion and flexibility, reduce muscle and joint pain, improve posture, reduce stress and assist in the recovery from an injury. Even stretching for five minutes every day can have major benefits to one’s health and fitness. Experts recommend stretching before and after workouts. Flexologists suggest clients book a session at least once or twice a week, while practicing at-home stretches daily.

StretchLab is currently booking guests ahead of StretchFest online and on social media. Guests can book 25-minute sessions or 50-minute sessions and sign up for a membership.
