State seizes 50 pounds of marijuana, shuts down Tacoma pot business – Medical Marijuana Program Connection

TACOMA — About 50 pounds of illegal cannabis products were seized this week at a South Tacoma business, according to the Washington Liquor and Cannabis Board.

Caveman Medicine was allegedly selling illegal marijuana products without a license at 1305 S. 56th St. in Tacoma, the board said in a news release.

The seizure came after undercover investigators, responding to a public complaint, purchased illegal cannabis at the store over several months. In conjunction with four Tacoma Police Department officers, authorities served a search warrant on Wednesday morning.

Cannabis can only be sold by a business with a state-issued cannabis retail license. The source of Caveman Medicine’s cannabis is under investigation, the Liquor and Cannabis Board said.

Wednesday’s haul included cannabis concentrates and cannabis-infused edible products. Some of the cannabis-infused products would have been illegal to sell even with a license because they exceeded THC serving-size limits, the Liquor and Cannabis Board said. Some of the products were “especially appealing to children,” the Liquor and Cannabis Board said.
