‘Squid Game’ English-Language Spinoff Series in the Works at Netflix

It sounds like Netflix is working on expanding the Squid Game franchise!

While fans still have to wait until December for season two of the South Korean dystopian survival thriller television series to premiere, it was reported on Monday (October 28) that the streaming platform is working on an English-language spinoff series.

Keep reading to find out more…According to Deadline, Fight Club, The Social Network, and Gone Girl director David Fincher is in talks to develop and direct the series.

This would mark the first Squid Game scripted spinoff series, however, Netflix did release the unscripted competition series Squid Game: The Challenge in 2023. A second season has already been renewed.

The first season of Squid Game, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, was released in 2021 and season two will debut on December 26. Watch the trailer here!
