Spring Capsule Wardrobe: My Plus Size Edition
[ad_1]
Hello, friends!
This is going to be a fun post because I’m going to share with you some of my favorite pieces in my Spring Capsule Wardrobe.
And they’re all plus size!
Spring is in the air!
It’s time to dust off your closets and get ready for some new outfits.
But what if you don’t have a closet?
Or if you’re like me, and you live in the suburbs with no car, it’s just not practical to do a big shopping trip?
Well, then it’s time to get creative.
That’s where a capsule wardrobe comes in.
A capsule wardrobe is a small collection of versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits.
This can be especially helpful for people who are on tight budgets or who don’t have space for lots of clothes—like me!
I’ve put together my own capsule wardrobe using pieces that fit my plus-size lifestyle (and budget).
I hope this helps you with your own capsule wardrobe!
How Do You Build A Spring Capsule Wardrobe?
Spring is a great time to refresh your wardrobe.
If you’re looking for a way to refresh your look in a low-cost, sustainable way, consider building a capsule wardrobe.
A capsule wardrobe is a small selection of clothes that can be worn together and mix-and-matched to create several outfits.
The idea is to make it easy to get dressed without having to think too hard about what looks good together.
It’s not just for fashionistas!
Creating a capsule wardrobe is also a great way to save money on clothes because you’ll only buy items that you know work well with each other.
And when something goes out of style or you don’t wear it anymore, it’s easy to replace one piece at a time without having to spend money on an entirely new outfit!
I’ve put together this guide so that you can build your own spring capsule wardrobe.
I’ll walk through what to consider before building one, what you need in a spring plus-size capsule wardrobe, and what not to wear if you are plus-size.
Some Things You Should Consider When Creating A Capsule Wardrobe

If you’ve never heard of a capsule wardrobe, it’s basically a way to streamline your closet.
Instead of having a bunch of different items that all look different, you have fewer pieces that all work together.
When you create a capsule wardrobe, you’ll need to consider three things: your personal style, your lifestyle, and the season.
Let’s go over each one in more detail!
1) Your Personal Style
Your personal style is probably the most important consideration when you’re creating a capsule wardrobe.
This is something that will come to you naturally once you start thinking about what styles work for you and what doesn’t.
But it’s still worth taking some time to figure out ahead of time so that you can make sure all of your pieces are cohesive and complementary with one another.
You don’t want to be stuck with all-black everything.
But if every piece in your closet is pink, then it might be time to reconsider how many pinks you have.
2) Your Lifestyle

Your lifestyle is one of the most important factors to consider when creating your capsule wardrobe.
Do you live in a city?
Are you a student?
Do you travel frequently?
These are all things that should be taken into consideration when deciding what clothes to include in your capsule wardrobe.
You should also take into consideration what type of weather you’ll encounter on a regular basis, as well as how often you’ll need to wash your clothing.
If you live in an area with harsh winters and summers, it might be best to have more than one set of winter clothes and summer clothes so that they can be worn throughout the year.
3) The Season
When planning your capsule wardrobe, it’s important to consider the season.
Your closet should have items that are appropriate for the time of year you’re in.
If it’s winter and you live in a place where it gets cold, you’ll want to have some warm clothes ready to go.
If it’s summer and you live in a place where it gets hot, you’ll want to have some cool items ready to wear.
Consider the weather, too.
Maybe you live somewhere that has all four seasons and each one brings its own set of challenges.
You can create multiple capsules for each season or just make sure your capsule wardrobe is adaptable enough so that it will work for any season or weather condition!
What Do You Need In A Spring Plus Size Capsule Wardrobe?

Spring is here, and you know what that means.
It’s time to get rid of your winter wardrobe and start stocking up on spring duds.
But when you’re plus size, shopping can be intimidating.
And when it comes to capsule wardrobes, you’ll want to make sure you have the right clothes, and not just any old thing will do.
Here are seven outfits in a spring plus size capsule wardrobe:
1) White Shirtdress And White Sneakers

This outfit is a great way to start off your spring capsule wardrobe.
It’s light, breezy, and perfect for the transition from winter to spring.
The white shirtdress is super comfortable and easy to move in, while still looking polished.
You can wear this dress with sneakers or flats.
Either way, it’ll look great.
2) Black Pants And A Black Tank Top

Black pants, a black tank top, and a pair of boots are classic looks that will never go out of style.
Try pairing your black pants with this black tank top for an easy look that can be dressed up or down!
3) A Sweater Dress With Black Heels Or Wedges

When you’re looking for a spring outfit, you don’t want to overthink it.
You need something that’s easy to put together and comfortable, but also chic and stylish enough to get you the kind of attention you deserve.
That’s where this sweater dress comes in!
It has all the comfort of a comfy sweater, with just enough edge to make it stand out from the crowd.
Pair it with some black heels or wedges for a look that will have people turning their heads as you walk by.
4) Denim Jacket, Jeans, And White Sneakers

Spring has sprung, and it’s time to get outside!
In this look, we’re rocking a denim jacket, jeans, and white sneakers.
The outfit is super easy to throw together and will keep you comfortable all day long.
5) Black Skirt, Black Tank Top, And Boots

A black skater skirt, black tank top, and black boots are a cool combination for a casual day out with friends or to the office.
I recommend pairing them with a simple white t-shirt to give your look some contrast.
6) A Floral Dress With Sandals Or Flats

This outfit is perfect for a spring day spent outdoors.
The floral dress is beautiful, but the color is muted enough that it’s not overwhelming.
Pair it with a pair of sandals or flats.
Either option will be comfortable, and you can choose whatever style you like best.
7) A Dressy Skirt Or Pants And Blouse

If you’re looking for a dressy look, try a skirt or pants with a blouse.
It’s easy to get dressed and look put-together in this outfit.
You can wear it to work, school, or even on a date!
If you want to dress up your outfit, even more, you can add some jewelry or heels.
What Not To Wear If Your A Plus Size?

When you wear clothes that don’t fit right, you feel like an impostor.
You might look great in your clothes, but they’re not really yours.
They’re just a costume that’s covering up the real you.
The one who’s too fat, or too short, or too tall for this outfit.
But what if we told you there was a way to dress like a million bucks without feeling like someone else?
We’ve got the secret.
It’s called dressing for your body type.
And there are five things all plus-size women should never wear:
1) Anything That’s Too Tight

You’ve heard it before, but we’re saying it again.
Don’t wear anything that’s too tight.
You’d think this would be obvious, but we’ve seen plus-size women wearing crop tops and dresses that are so tight they look like they’re going to burst at the seams.
You don’t want to accidentally pop a button or split your dress down the middle, and you definitely don’t want to attract attention for being “too big.”
So if you’re going for a fitted look, make sure the fabric has some give.
And if you’re going for something looser?
Make sure it’s not so loose that it looks like a tent!
2) Anything That’s Too Short

If you’re a plus-size woman, it can be hard to find clothes that fit.
But when you do find them, you want to make sure they fit well and look good!
The first thing that should tell you whether or not your outfit is appropriate for your body is the length of the garment.
Anything that’s too short will make your body appear heavier than it is, and any extra fabric will just make you look bigger.
3) Anything That’s Too Low-Cut Or Revealing

If you’re a plus size, I get it.
You want to feel confident in your clothing choices and make a statement about your body.
I am here for you!
But there are certain things that just aren’t going to work if you’re a plus-size girl.
Anything that’s too low-cut or revealing is going to make you look like a different person than the one who’s standing in front of the mirror.
That’s because these kinds of cuts emphasize what’s wrong with your body instead of bringing out its best features.
You might think that you need to show off your cleavage or your curves in order to attract attention.
But trust me, nobody wants to see them!
4) Anything That’s Too Loud Or Busy

If you’re a plus-size woman, you might be worried that what you wear is going to make you stand out.
And that’s understandable.
Being a plus-size woman has its challenges, and one of those challenges is that it can be hard to feel confident in your own skin.
So if you want to feel confident in your own skin and look great, here are some things not to wear.
Anything too loud or busy.
When it comes to plus-size fashion, less is more.
Try sticking with solid colors and simple designs so that your outfit can do most of the talking for you!
5) Anything That Doesn’t Make You Feel Good

If you’re a plus-sized woman, you’ve likely been told that there are certain things you should never wear.
Because of course, it’s not about what looks good on your body, but what will make you feel good about yourself.
After all, that’s the most important thing, right?
Well, I believe in fashion for everyone and that includes plus-sized women!
