Sources: Multiple Law Enforcement Officers Shot and Killed In East Charlotte – WCCB Charlotte’s CW

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Numerous law enforcement officers have been shot and killed in east Charlotte, according to sources.

The shooting happened on Galway Drive in east Charlotte. WCCB has confirmed members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force were conducting an investigation when they engaged in active gunfire with a subject, according to CMPD.

One U.S. Marshal was killed in the shooting, according to multiple sources.

Multiple roads have been blocked throughout Charlotte as law enforcement officers are being rushed to local hospitals, as you can see in the video below.

CMPD’s SWAT Team is currently on the scene.

CMPD has confirmed on Twitter that this is an isolated threat to Galway Drive and to shelter in place.

CMS says some schools are being impacted due to the active investigation and parents will be informed on how they can pick up their children. CMS has also said that the lockdown has now been lifted for Devonshire ES, Briarwood Academy, Cochrane Collegiate and Lawrence Orr Es.

Governor Roy Cooper has been made aware of the situation and made the following statement on social media.
