Sofia Richie Grainge is adding brand ambassador to her résumé. After her refined looks quickly catapulted her to It girl status following her April wedding to Elliot Grainge in the South of France, all eyes are on the style icon once again as Richie Grainge partners with David Yurman.

She’s the latest in a long line of famous faces—Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Amber Valletta, and Scarlett Johansson—to work with the brand. On this occasion, Richie Grainge and Yurman have come together for the launch of Sculpted Cable, the newest iteration of the Cable collection—one of the jeweler’s signature designs for the past 40-odd years.

“[David Yurman] embodies timeless elegance, something that I’m trying to embody myself,” Richie Grainge said. The campaign, shot by British photographer Glen Luchford at the Kellogg Doolittle estate in Joshua Tree, features the model in pared-back fashion and stacked jewelry. “I didn’t really understand the location until I started playing with the jewelry,” said Richie Grainge. “The Sculpted Cable pieces really made sense in that home.” The newest iteration of the Cable collection is a sleek take on the brand totem, with carved lines to create the illusion of cable without the actuality of it.

“This is another way to showcase the twisted motif that represents unity and togetherness,” said brand president Evan Yurman, who is also the chief creative officer and the son of David and Sybil Yurman. “Connection in any type, you can really interpret that in any way you see fit, whether you are connected to nature or spirituality or somebody else.” The inherent meaning of connection has infused the Cable collection the brand launched in 1982, when it was deep in the act of breaking barriers in the jewelry landscape. “It was innovative at the time,” said Evan, “[managing to] get these strands of silver to come together, stay together, and be flexible, wearable, and have longevity.” Something David, originally a sculptor by trade and training, must have found invigorating to realize.

With their designs, the Yurmans continue to push the boundaries of modern jewelry. Take the concept of mixed metals—often a stylistic taboo—which the brand has always embraced. “We’re a firm believer of mixing metals,” Evan said. “Titanium and gold, titanium and silver—it’s really just a palette to express it. It also helps to cover a large price range to let everyone in on the dream.” That’s an idea that Richie Grainge agreed on: “I’m super open. I love mixing all metals,” she said. “I can’t not at this point.”
