[ad_1]
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – Local law enforcement warns those who drink not to drive and say they will be out looking for impaired drivers this weekend.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, officers will work with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, Oct. 11.
The checkpoint will be set up on St. Clair between Addison Road and E. 79th Street between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.
“The goal of this initiative is to reduce the number of alcohol-related accidents and make the roadways safe for all drivers,” read a Monday press release.
In 1990, the Supreme Court upheld the use of sobriety checkpoints as long as they meet certain guidelines, which includes public notification.
