Six people, including 2-year-old, shot in Durham in two overnight shootings

Three people were shot Friday morning in Durham – just hours after a two-year-old and two others were shot less than five miles away.

At 3:27 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of Fayetteville Street and Linwood Avenue. When officers arrived, they found three people, two men and a woman who had been shot.

Emergency Medical Services transported all three victims to a local hospital. The woman has life-threatening injuries. Both men have non-life-threatening injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Fayetteville Street from Linwood Avenue to Massey Avenue is closed. Drivers should avoid the area at this time.

2-year-old, two others shot at Durham apartment complex

Three people, including a two-year-old, were shot Thursday night at an apartment complex in Durham.

At 8:14 p.m., Durham police responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 1400 block of East Cornwallis Road.

When officers arrived, they found three victims – a 22-year old man, 20-year -old woman and 2-year old girl – who had been shot. Emergency Medical Services responded and took all three victims to a local hospital. The child has life-threatening injuries, but the other two victims are expected to survive.

Durham Police are responding to a reported shooting Thursday night at an apartment complex on East Cornwallis Road.

This is an ongoing investigation.
