Simone Biles trades in Packers gear for Bears

[ad_1]

Simone Biles’ gameday outfits will feature a lot more navy and orange.

Asked by a TMZ cameraperson whether she had Bears gear to wear this season, she smiled.

“I have plenty now,” she said Thursday in New York, ” so don’t worry, guys.”

The world’s greatest gymnast caught flak in some corners of the Internet when she wore a jacket to the Bears’ only preseason home game last month featuring images of her husband Jonathan Owens, a Bears backup safety, on it. The problem: the images showed Owens was wearing the uniform of his former team, the rival Packers.

Owens has been Biles’ biggest fan for years. When he signed with the team in March, he asked permission to attend the Paris Olympics to watch his wife. They allowed him to skip parts of training camp to do so.

“Overjoyed for her, all of her accomplishments that she’s made,” Owens said upon returning from the Olympics. “All Just being a face for gymnastics, man. She became the most decorated American gymnast ever. So it was amazing that I was able to be there and witness that for her.”

The Bears open their season Sunday against the Titans at Soldier Field.

It’s go time for Caleb Williams and Co.

The Bears head coach will be judged by how well his offense performs and how rookie quarterback Caleb Williams develops — even though he’s not the one calling the plays.

Harbaugh is back in the NFL with the Chargers — and the most ready-made quarterback he has ever had.
