Selena Gomez Shares the Score at Soccer Game: “I’m Single!”

[ad_1]

Olé, olé, oh hey, Selena Gomez is single, if you were wondering. She’s not quite shouting it from the rooftops, but she is shouting it from the sidelines of what appears to be a recreational soccer game in Los Angeles.

Gomez made it clear that she’s ready to love you like a love song, baby, by posting a TikTok to her account Thursday. In the video, she yells, “I’m single! I’m just a little high-maintenance! But I’ll love you soooooo much!” at a group of men playing soccer in the distance.

“The struggle man lol” the 30-year-old actor/singer captioned the video.

She only speaks (bellows) 14 words in the video (if we’re counting “high-maintenance” as two words, as we’re sure it would demand, high-maintenance as it is), but her insulation-count appears to be almost as high as her word count. It’s big Cold Girl Energy. I spy a coat, an enormous beige scarf that could probably double as a toddler’s duvet, a fluffy black and white blanket in her lap, and is that another quilted puffy blanket I see peeking out from under the fuzzy blanket? I do believe it is. Imagine the trunk of her car, yanking all of these things out, one after another, like a magician doing that trick where they pull a ton of scarves out of some kid’s ear. It’s a good thing she has her blazing passion for the game of fútbol to keep her warm, alongside all those accessories.

This is just Gomez’s latest way of poking fun at her romantic life, amidst endless rumors about who she might be smooching and fans who just won’t let go of her past romance with Justin Bieber. When Gomez made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut last month, she joked in her opening monologue that “I’m single and I’ve heard that SNL is a great place to find romance,” citing examples of stars like Colin Jost who have met their matches on the show.

“Since I don’t really want to try the dating apps, I just want to put it out in the universe that I’m manifesting love,” she said. “I’d like to say that I’m looking for my soulmate, but at this point, I’d take anyone.”

Ask any soccer player: It’s good to have a goal.
