(FOX40.COM) — It’s no secret that Northern California has been blasted by some serious heat over the last week, but the average temperatures during that time is what some could call “toasty.”

On Thursday, the National Weather Service shared the average high and low temperatures around Northern California after the near record-setting 9-day heat streak.

Sacramento broke its 35-year high-temperature record for July 6 of 109°F on Saturday with a sweltering 113°F, recorded in Downtown Sacramento.

Between July 1-9, the city of Sacramento averaged a high of 106°F and a low of 70°F.

Stockton and Modesto clocked similar averages with highs/lows of 106°F/68°F and 105°F/71°F respectively.

The heat got really cranked up in the far northern portion of the Sacramento Valley where Redding recorded an average 9-day high of 112°F and an average low of 76°F.

Neighboring Red Bluff also felt the burn with an average high of 111°F and an average low of 74°F.

Sacramento is expected to see a relative break from the heat in the coming days as temperatures are forecasted to drop to mid-90s by Sunday and continue through July 17.
