Sacramento-area car crash leaves several people hospitalized, two critical

(FOX40.COM) — Two people are in critical condition and several others are injured after a major car crash, according to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
Around 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Metro Fire responded to what they are calling a ‘multi-casualty incident’ near Jackson Highway and Murieta Drive in Rancho Murieta. The crash involved five people, four of them were transported to a local hospital. Details about the two people in critical condition have not been released.
Officials said the California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. As of 9:30 p.m., Jackson Highway is closed in both directions.
