Royal Guests and Relatives from around the world joined the Spanish Royal Family for a spectacular Gala Dinner at El Pardo Royal Palace, in the outskirts of Madrid, on this day in 2004, 20 years ago, on the eve of the Wedding of Don Felipe, Prince of Asturias, and Doña Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano. The Wedding took place just days after the magnificent Wedding Celebrations of Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.

King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia joined the Prince of Asturias and Doña Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano to greet the 340 Guests on the Patio de los Austrias of the the El Pardo Palace, ahead of the Dinner in Patio de los Borbones, which itself was followed by a private Ball.

The then-Prince of Asturias and his soon-to-be Princess in a stunning silver Lorenzo Caprile gown with a sapphire, pearl, and diamond suite, given to her by her parents-in-law as an engagement gift.
