Aric Improta of Night Verses and Stephen Harrison of The Chariot have unveiled their latest project, House of Protection, marking their transition to the Red Bull Records roster after departing from Fever 333. Bringing together their extensive experience as boundary-pushing live musicians, the duo blends punk, electronic, and hardcore influences to create a sound that defies convention. Rooted in a shared vision of providing a safe space for self-expression and boundless creativity, the band’s ethos permeates their ambitious sound and frenetic visuals.

Explaining the inspiration behind the name House of Protection, Aric shares, “‘Protection’ was specifically chosen because it’s a Massive Attack song and I was reading their biography as we started this project. It was very inspiring when it came to us initiating this whole thing. The full name is because we wanted to build something that protected our creativity and ideas as well as the people that come to the shows.”

Their debut single, “It’s Supposed To Hurt,” marks a significant departure as Aric and Stephen showcase their vocal talents for the first time in their careers. Produced by Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon, the abrasive anthem is accompanied by an official video that captures the energy of the House of Protection in a series of extreme, chaos-fueled shots. The band’s DIY spirit shines through, showing fans what to expect from their live performances.

Reflecting on the origins of the single, the band explains, “‘It’s Supposed To Hurt’ was the first song we wrote. Some of the vocals were from our initial improvisations. When we started this, we had no idea how we would sound or where we wanted to take it. Neither of us had sung before, we just knew the energy we wanted to create sonically and that we’d put in whatever time it took to get it to feel right. Fortunately, this song answered a lot of those questions instantly.”

House of Protection serves as a sanctuary for those who surrender to impulse, pushing the boundaries of hardcore, electronica, and punk to forge a space for boundless creativity. Drawing from their experiences with Fever 333, Night Verses, and The Chariot, Aric and Stephen are known for their fearlessness in exploring extremes. Inspired by bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, The Prodigy, and Sleigh Bells, House of Protection invites audiences to embrace fearlessness and bliss in their performances.

Teaming up with Nick DePirro of Night Verses and Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon, they created their urgent debut single, ‘It’s Supposed To Hurt.’ “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy to start again from scratch, but that phrase became our ethos. Starting again was the whole point of this,” offers Aric. House of Protection thrives in the margins of unpredictability, where anything goes and all are invited. Welcome home.
