PORTLAND, Oregon — The next weather system is rapidly approaching the coast. Clouds increase Friday morning, and rain begins in the western valleys by mid-afternoon. Rain starts much sooner at the coast.

Saturday will be a very rainy day. Snow in the Cascades will be heavy at times above 4,000 feet.

Between Friday night and Tuesday, over three feet of snow will fall in the northern Oregon Cascades.

After several days of cool, wet weather, the Northwest sees a major shift to warmer and dry weather at the end of next week. We may see our first 80-degree day by next weekend.
