HENDERSON, Nev. — Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro receiver Davante Adams limped off the field during a joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers on Friday with what appeared to be a right leg injury.

Adams was sandwiched by 49ers linebacker Oren Burks and cornerback Charvarius Ward while running a slant pattern early in 11-on-11 team drills and stayed down for a minute before being helped to the sideline. He later walked gingerly to the Raiders’ locker room and pointed to his calf area.

Las Vegas coach Josh McDaniels said immediately after practice that he had yet to receive a report on Adams.

“I don’t think it was crazy serious,” McDaniels said. “It was just kind of a bang-bang play. Totally clean, on both sides.”

Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler who has been named first-team All-Pro the past three seasons, had 100 receptions on a career-high 180 targets for 1,516 yards and an NFL-high 14 touchdowns last season for Las Vegas, which acquired him in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers in March 2022. He has averaged 113 catches for 1,481 yards and 12 TDs the past three seasons.

Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers said he did not see the play, as he was running a route on the other side of the field.

“I’m just hoping he’s healthy,” Meyers said. “He brings a lot to this team. We appreciate him, and we just want him to be back to himself.”

Adams talked at the beginning of camp about how much more comfortable he was in McDaniels’ system in Year 2.

“It’s a like a whole new world now because you go from saying, ‘How can I not mess this up?’ to ‘How can I put my own flavor on it and kind of sauce it up more to fit me and use my creativity within the routes and the scheme to make it that much better?'” Adams said at the time. “Rather than just remembering my assignment, it goes to take it to another level.”

Adams also talked about playing with a new quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo after the Raiders moved on from nine-year starter Derek Carr, Adams’ quarterback in college at Fresno State.

“He’s a great guy, easy to talk to, super coachable from the coaches to him and listening to my feedback and the way that I view the game, too,” Adams said of Garoppolo after the first camp practice. “Today was very productive, a lot of conversation out there, and we just got to stay on that and continue with it to get to where we want to be, obviously, come Week 1.”

The Raiders, who had two joint practices with the Niners, play host to their former Bay Area rivals in both teams’ exhibition opener Sunday at Allegiant Stadium before heading to Los Angeles for a pair of joint practices with the Rams next week and an exhibition game against them at SoFi Stadium on Aug. 19.
