Prince Harry And Megan Markle Hit Beyonce Show In LA

[ad_1]

Their new Netflix docuseries, Heart of Invictus, might be struggling to find an audience, but based on some fan photos taken Friday night, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to live the dream. The royal couple took a break from building their media empire Friday, and headed to Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium for a SoCal stop on Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour.

Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, a concert-goer first caught sight of the couple, who watched the show from a box high atop the stadium. Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, and close friend, actress Abigail Spencer, were with them at the show, which makes some folks’ characterization of the evening as a “date night” perplexing—I don’t bring my mom on dates, do you?—but that’s beside the point.

Those in the Beyonce know are aware that fans have been asked to wear silver to her current stretch of shows in honor of her astrological sign. “We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night,” Beyoncé wrote last week in a widely reported Instagram story. “Everybody mirroring each other’s joy. Virgo season together in the House of Chrome.”

But while Ragland, Markle, and others in the Sussexs’ box donned sparkling duds to comply, Harry’s embrace of the request was less game than, say, Mark Zuckerberg’s bedazzled look at a recent Taylor Swift show. Sure, Harry wore a somewhat silvery jacket over a grey sweater—but out of anyone in the Los Angeles area Friday night, he seemed like the person most likely to have a bright-and-shining suit of armor on hand.

Speaking or armor, in other images posted to X, Harry struck a fairly stiff pose, with hands in his pockets except when checking his phone mid-show. Perhaps he was taking a back seat to Ragland, whose night it reportedly was: per The Independent, the outing was a celebration of her 67th birthday. Or perhaps he was suffering from pre-travel jitters, as he’s expected to travel to London within the next few days, to appear at a charity event scheduled just a day before the first anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II

Though he might be in town on that sad day of remembrance, Harry isn’t expected to meet up with his father, King Charles II, or brother Prince William for comfort. He reportedly remains estranged from both, and has “no intention” to see family during the trip, the Daily Mail reports, citing an unnamed “insider.” Instead, after his London stop, Harry will continue to the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, where Markle will eventually fly to join him.
