Preview: Tidjane Salaün set to make debut against Knicks – At The Hive

[ad_1]

What: Charlotte Hornets (0-0) vs New York Knicks (0-0)

When: 5:00pm Eastern

Where: Thomas & Mack Center; Las Vegas, NV

How to watch: ESPN2, ESPN+

After a 3-0 showing in the California Classic, the Hornets turn their attention to Las Vegas for the big kahuna, the NBA 2K25 Las Vegas Summer League. This is the one where every team in the league is represented and the whole league is watching. It kicked off on Friday, and we’ve already seen some big performances from rookies and returning players alike.

The Hornets will hope to get one or two of those big performances, especially if it comes from players expected to make their summer league debuts. Rookie forward and first round Tidjane Salaün is supposed to play in the Las Vegas summer league, and most indications are that he’ll suit up for the game tonight. His minutes will be monitored though coming off a minor knee injury.

Also making his somewhat surprising 2024 summer league debut is second year player Brandon Miller. Despite having an all rookie first team campaign in year one and playing for the select team as part of Team USA’s preparations for the Olympics, Miller has joined the team in Vegas as part of the summer league roster. Head coach Charles Lee has confirmed he’s not just there to get a sweat. He’s going to play. I wouldn’t expect him to play every game, but he’ll get at least a game or two to stay sharp and work on his game.

The Knicks don’t have a super exciting summer league roster. It features their first round pick Pacome Dadiet and former Marquette standout Tyler Kolek. Jacob Toppin and Alex O’Connell are recognizable names from their college days. Otherwise, there’s not much on the roster in the way of former college stars, NBA players, or other noteworthy names.
