The Charlotte Hornets wrap up their five game preseason slate with a road game against the Indiana Pacers. They’ve compiled an entertaining 2-2 record with the only losses coming by narrow margins to the New York Knicks. Even more importantly, 111 points has been the winning score in three of the four games.
If the preseason Pacers are anything like last year’s Pacers, the winning team will go over that number tonight. That seems to be the case. All three of the Pacers preseason games to this point have totaled at least 236 points. There will be lots of scoring tonight unless the starters don’t get any burn.
I do expect most of the regulars to play a little bit, but I’d guess their minutes don’t extend into the second half. We’ll probably see a lot of 10-15 minute showings while the tryout guys and rookies play 30+. The Pacers rested a lot of their key players in their last preseason game, so I’d expect them to give their main guys a little bit of burn in this one just to keep them sharp.
After this, it’s on to the regular season, which starts next Wednesday for the Hornets.
