Secret service is working outside a Los Altos Hills mansion, where President Biden is expected to attend a third Bay Area fundraiser this week for his 2024 reelection campaign.

“I was excited, and being that I work in Los Altos, I was like where in Los Altos?? But of course, not here downtown, I’m downtown,” Ann Taylor, a Hayward resident said. “But it’s still exciting to know that he’s here.”

Biden’s Los Altos visit comes after a night of events in San Francisco.

According to the reception invite, Thursday’s fundraiser is hosted by real estate developer Bob Klein, Klein’s wife and former State Controller Steve Westly.

“He’s here because there’s money here!” Stephen Gill, a Los Altos resident said.

Those hoping to rub elbows with President Biden are paying for it, with tickets going for as much as $100,000.

The cheapest ticket is $6,000 but anyone who wants a photo with Mr. Biden will need to hand over at least $25,000.

“Deep pockets and the money he’s going to get here, he’s not going to spend in California because that’s a blue state,” Gill said. “He’s not going to spend it in Mississippi because it’s a red state but he may spend it in Michigan or Pennsylvania.”

“Well, they should come here because that’s where the money is,” Thomas Dehaan, a Los Altos resident said. “If they want support, they’ve got to go and get financed. Same thing with Trump or any other politician.

But not all Los Altos locals are excited to hear about the President’s visit.

“This is one election that no one seems to want, it’s kind of crazy but we’ve got several months to go, maybe things will change, who knows,” Dehaan said.

President Biden is expected to leave San Francisco by helicopter around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday from the Marina Green.

Then he will land at Moffat Field in Mountain View.

His campaign reception in Los Altos Hills is set to happen around 2:45 p.m.
