Portland man dies from injuries in hit-and-run crash

Officers responded around 2:35 a.m. on July 11 to a report of man injured in the street on North Columbia Boulevard and North Argyle Way. The man, later identified as Jamie Allen Smith, was taken to the hospital. Smith, who was 25 years old, died at the hospital from injuries suffered in the hit-and-run crash the next day, on July 12. In a Tuesday news release, the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) said it was notified of Smith’s death.

Portland police has not found the driver involved and has not released a suspect description. The investigation is ongoing, Portland police said.
