Police: 1 dead after SUV drives into Clackamas River near Oregon City park

OREGON CITY, Ore. — The Oregon City Police Department is investigating after a person died after driving their car into Clackamas River near a RV park Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the first call came in at 12:54 p.m., where someone said they saw a SUV go into the water with a person in the vehicle at Clackamette RV Park.
The Oregon City Police Department responded with marine rescue units and located both the SUV and person. Rescue divers attempted lifesaving efforts on said person, but police confirmed to KGW as of early Wednesday evening that the person is dead. The person has not yet been identified.
The incident is currently under investigation, said the Oregon City Police Department.
