The Pentagon publicly acknowledged Wednesday that thousands of LGBTQ veterans were unjustly denied an honorable discharge during the “don’t ask, don’t tell” era because of their sexual orientation, and announced it is launching a new process to address the issue by reviewing those cases and potentially having those discharges upgraded to honorable.
