Pedestrian killed in crash on I-40 in Durham

Durham police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 40 from Saturday night.

Around 9:53 p.m., officers found a man was hit by a vehicle in the westbound lanes near the Fayetteville Road Exit.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The circumstances around what caused the crash are not known.
