Osceola County deputies arrest man for deadly shooting outside smoke shop

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of a deadly shooting in August. Jordany Ramos-Oliveras, 24, is charged with the murder of 24-year-old Onix Ramirez. Investigators say it happened outside of Beyond Smoke on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.The sheriff’s office released a video of them taking Ramos-Oliveras into custody. With a smirk on his face and handcuffs around his wrists, deputies escorted him straight to jail. “He’s an idiot. He thinks he’s going to get away with it, but he’s not because guess who’s smiling last? We are. And now, he’s in jail,” Sheriff Marcos Lopez said.Lopez said when deputies arrived on the scene, they found the victim in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head. He said surveillance video showed the suspect pointing the gun at the victim and pulling the trigger.”Obviously, there was an argument that escalated to the point where this guy thought it was OK to stand behind him like a coward and shoot him in the back of the head and kill him,” Lopez said.Soon after the shooting, deputies say Ramos-Oliveras tried to hide by going to Puerto Rico. Investigators on the island found him in a matter of hours. Deputies say it took a few months to get him to Osceola County because he tried to fight the extradition.Now that he’s back in Central Florida, the sheriff says they’re working to keep him behind bars for a very long time.”This guy’s still on video doing what he did. And, um, he’s not going to be able to run from that,” Lopez said.Ramos-Oliveras was extradited to Florida last Friday. He’s being held in the Osceola County jail without bond.
