Nonprofits bicycle safety event held Saturday for local youth

Two nonprofit organizations came together to host an event promoting bicycle safety for local youth on Saturday.People of Wekiwa Springs and Children’s Safety Village held the event Saturday morning in Apopka to remind parents and their children about how to be safe on bikes. The event features safety experts, interactive learning, and refreshments for those in attendance.The People of Wekiwa Springs said the free event was designed to keep kids safe as they get out of school and out on their bikes.Bike riders should always wear a helmet that properly fits, obey traffic lights and signs and always ride on the right side of the road with the flow of traffic.More safety tips from the Children’s Safety Village can be found here.
