New home sales decimate last year's rates while existing home sales flounder

October data from the San Antonio Board of Realtors, shows that new home sales are faring far better than existing product. Experts say that’s because homebuilders are able to offer concessions on new homes that dramatically bring down overall costs for the buyer, which existing home sellers can’t compete with.
