NC BBQ spot to be featured on America's Best Restaurant show

WILLIAMSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Shaw’s Barbeque House in Williamston was visited by production crews of America’s Best Restaurant last month.

The visit will result in an episode featuring Shaw’s, which is expected to air around Christmas. The episode will highlight popular dishes from the restaurant that features an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Gary Manning, owner of Shaw’s, is honored to have the opportunity.

“Means a lot. It means more to my community because this restaurant is about community. It’s about it. It’s a staple of our community,” he said. “So many of our loyal customers that come in every day, my staff work really hard to get things ready. We put our best foot forward, hoping to make Eastern North Carolina barbecue look good as it is.”

While being a prominent figure in Eastern North Carolina, Shaw’s is also lending a helping hand in Western North Carolina. They recently fed 1,500 pounds of barbeque to well over 1,000 people.

Manning said they will be going out to Western North Carolina again to hand out turkeys for Thanksgiving.
