RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — North Carolina’s Hispanic community is the fastest growing population in the state.

Thursday morning, national organization Hispanic Federation held a phone bank with local groups in Raleigh to make sure eligible Latino voters go to the polls by Nov. 5.

There are at least 300,000 registered Hispanic voters in the state. According to a poll from the Hispanic Federation, 73% of North Carolina Latino voters said they’re committed to voting this election.

Organizers said the economy is the biggest issue they’re hearing about from the Latino community.

“The Latino electorate is like the general electorate,” said Jack Golub of the Hispanic Federation. “The same thing that matters to most people matters to Latinos, especially the economy. There’s no single issue that’s going to matter.”
