Washington, D.C. – Today, in response to Donald Trump’s official announcement that he plans to run for president, MoveOn Political Action Executive Director Rahna Epting released the following statement:

“We defeated Donald Trump before, and we are fully ready to do it again.

“Exactly one week ago, voters unambiguously rejected Trump’s attempt to stack the deck for himself in 2024. If he insists on losing again, we’ll have to oblige.

“Trump and his acolytes would like to forget the fact that in 2020, the most voters ever in American history turned out to make him a one-term president and elect Joe Biden. His pathetic refusal to accept his 2020 loss seems to be driving him straight toward an even more disastrous defeat in 2024. He really should take the hint.

“The ongoing revelations about Trump’s numerous criminal conspiracies only further our commitment to defeating Trump and the MAGA movement

“Whether the MAGA GOP picks Trump or another right-wing incendiary, we will be there to make MAGA lose again. And we’ll mobilize our millions of members to protect our freedoms, build an economy that works for everyone, and create an America for all.”
