CHP received reports of a crash between a Honda SUV and a motorcycle on SR24 near the Saint Stephens offramp at about 12:05 a.m. Responding officers found a motorcyclist and their vehicle blocking the second lane, with excess debris reported in the middle lanes.
About 15 minutes later, CHP blocked all of SR24’s five westbound lanes, and a coroner and a tow truck were called to the scene. At 12:44 a.m., CHP reopened a single lane, and all lanes were reopened just before 1 a.m.
CHP reported the fatality at the scene. They did not release the motorcyclist’s identity. CHP said the person driving the Honda SUV was arrested under suspicion of a felony DUI.
