One year after Hess Corporate Travel merged with Maupin Travel, the travel agencies have rebranded and will serve corporate and leisure customers under the name Sequel Travel, the company announced Monday.

Maupin was owned by Trevor and Jordan Smith, who now serve as CEO and chairwoman of Sequel, respectively. Mike Davidson, who was COO of Hess, is president and COO of Sequel, according to the company.

The company said it would continue to service both corporate and vacation travel. Both Hess and Maupin were branches of Tzell Travel Group.

“It’s a different company than it was a year ago,” Trevor Smith said in a statement. “We’ve added to our 50-plus-person team, and we’re excited to continue growing. Our customers will still receive the same high level of service they’ve come to trust but with even more agility than before. While technology plays a significant role in this new chapter, we are committed to leading with personal connection.”

Hess in 2019 had $119.5 million in sales, 95 percent of which was generated by business travel, according to Travel Weekly.
