Following Debut Album Release Toronto’s own rapper JUGGER joins forces with director Marcus Letts to unveil a cinematic music video for his latest album track, “NIGHTMARE.” Drawing inspiration from the iconic Wes Craven horror film, Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, the video immerses viewers in a chilling narrative featuring twin sisters (models, Kiki & Lola) at a slumber party that takes a sinister turn.
The opening scene sets a carefree tone as the twins enjoy magazines and dance to JUGGER’s song “Chrome.” However, as the record abruptly stops, the atmosphere shifts dramatically. One of the twins becomes entranced and ventures into the living room, slipping into a dreamlike state as videos of JUGGER flash across the TV. With “NIGHTMARE” serving as the backdrop to her hallucinations, Letts pays homage to the classic scene where Freddy Krueger haunts the dreams of his victims. The tension builds as she approaches the TV, only to be pulled into the screen by a mysterious figure, leaving her twin to discover the chilling aftermath.
Renowned for his world-building prowess, JUGGER recently collaborated with acclaimed creative Nicolas Neubert to produce an AI video trailer for “NIGHTMARE,” showcasing the song’s dark and twisted themes. The trailer was featured in preview reels across Toronto’s movie theaters during Halloween weekend, adding to the anticipation surrounding the album’s release.
