Manchester-by-the-Sea hosting forums on Masconomo Park flooding

[ad_1]

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — The town invites invites residents and stakeholders to two community planning workshops this week to look at ways to adapt Masconomo Park to be resilient to flooding and remain usable.

The goal of the grant-funded Masconomo Park Study project is to get input from the community as to what are important considerations about the use of Masconomo Park in the face of sea-level rise and increased storm surges — as was evident this January when the park was completely flooded.

The focus of these forums is to provide education, gather feedback and present potential solutions for consideration to the community.

The forums are:

Tuesday, April 30, 10-10:45 a.m., American Legion Hall Amaral Bailey Post 113, 14 Church St.

Tuesday, April 30, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Masconomo Park, across from 60 Beach St..

Thursday, May 2, 6-7 p.m., American Legion Hall Amaral Bailey Post 113, 14 Church St.
