A man working as a pizza delivery driver was shot and killed in North Philadelphia on Thursday night, police said.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. on the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue near Pete’s Pizza, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC10.

The victim is a 29-year-old man who was found slumped over in the driver’s seat of his car and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Small said.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, according to police.

Investigators on the scene found a car with a broken window from the gunfire, Small said.

Six shell casings were found at the scene as well as inside the victim’s car, Small explained. Investigators believe the suspect was very close to the victim when shots were fired.

The suspected shooter was caught on camera trying to open the car door before the victim put his car in reverse and hit another vehicle, according to Small.

The suspect is then seen trying to open the car door again, Small said.

According to Small, the suspect was last seen wearing dark-colored clothing going southbound on Ridge Avenue.
