Man stabbed to death after road rage incident in Turlock, suspect arrested

A man was stabbed and killed on Friday night in Turlock after a road rage incident, according to police. The Turlock Police Department said officers responded to reports of a stabbing around 10:30 p.m. at the 2400 block of West Monte Vista Avenue.According to police, when the officers arrived they found a man on the ground who had been stabbed. Officers attempted life-saving measures but the man, 49-year-old Enrique Gomez, was pronounced dead at the scene.During an investigation Turlock police learned that the stabbing happened after a verbal altercation related to a road rage incident at an apartment complex near the scene. A physical altercation followed and led to the stabbing. Turlock police detectives identified the suspect’s vehicle and partnered with the Modesto Police Department to find the suspect. Ahmad Abweny, a 28-year-old Modesto resident, was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on murder charges, police said.
