Man shot in neighborhood near downtown Raleigh

A man was shot early Monday in a neighborhood near downtown Raleigh.

Around 1 a.m., officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to a shooting along Heck Street, near Idlewild Avenue, just east of downtown.

One man had non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

A suspect was not in custody.

The shooting is under investigation. Police were on scene working to determine the cause and circumstances.
