Magnolia Park Fill ‘The Void’ In Our Hearts With Exceptional Music

Gather around, Honeybees, because we have a new must-check on the darker spectrum of music 👀 These guys drop banger after banger, never disappointing with their releases. And they’re back and hitting it hard; not even that long since their last two singles. Yep, it’s our faves, Magnolia Park, making sure our summer is anything but a void.

After the striking ‘Shallow’ in June, which captivated us with its lyrics and power, we definitely did not expect anything new to come our way soon. And then we were proven wrong just a month later. The Disney cover ‘I2I’ from the project A Whole New Sound that Magnolia Park delivered was something we did not know we needed this badly. Disney going pop punk? We’re so here for it! However, two summer drops were apparently not enough for the band. They had to make sure August rocked just as hard. Cue our new favorite, ‘The Void.’

‘The Void’s Outstanding Charm

Magnolia Park welcome us to ‘The Void,’ an intense track that flawlessly captures the impactful sound of the band. With this single, they focus on the mental struggles that come when trying to avoid falling into depression and giving in to one’s dark thoughts. From the beginning, the lyrics so clearly depict how it feels when those intrusive thoughts try to take over the mind, to the point it seems like “my soul is burning like gasoline.”

“No one’s gonna save me now
Cause I’m falling in the void
Every day I’m breaking down
Cause I’m feeling paranoid”

During this psychological fight, one can reach the dangerous state of questioning why they should keep it up. Once again remarkably captured in the lyrics of ‘The Void,’ and delivered in Magnolia Park’s distinct, powerful sound. Emphasizing the words as if screaming for answers and help, we applaud their choice of addressing the subject.

“Give me a reason why I shouldn’t go
Cause I’m losing hope”

Did you also feel like the change in the sound and singing further highlights how the mind works in its darker moments? Just like how negative thoughts try to invade our heads: starting quietly until they are all we can hear. The single begins with a more melodic touch that quickly transitions into the intense track which is ‘The Void.’ We are absolutely loving the direction that the band went with, to bring us this musical art.
