Lyons man issued a Franklin Park village citation for improperly transporting marijuana: Police – Medical Marijuana Program Connection

The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Outstanding warrant

Timothy Howk, 33, of the 200 block of Liberty Street, Elgin, was charged July 21 with disregarding a stop sign, having open alcohol in his car and unlawful use of cannabis at Lincoln Avenue and Schiller Boulevard. He also was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of DuPage County for driving under the influence.

DUI

Hector Gonzalez-Herrera, 44, of the 2400 block of 1st Avenue, River Grove, was charged July 19 with driving under the influence and aggravated DUI for driving on a revoked license in the 3000 block of Dora Street.

Drugs

Vicente Perea, 27, of the 8100 block of Christie Avenue, Lyons, was issued a local ordinance citation July 22 for improper transportation of cannabis in a vehicle at Rose Street and Schiller Boulevard.

Criminal damage

Five fences and two garage doors on July 23 were reported tagged with graffiti in the 3200 block of Sunset Lane, the 3300 block of Sarah Street and the 10100 block of Franklin Avenue.

Theft

A generator and power cords were reported stolen July 21 from the 11000 block of Melrose Avenue. Estimated loss was $2,200.

Burglary

The ignition and the center console were reported damaged July 26 on a 1999 Ford Explorer parked in the 2400 block of Maple Street.

Criminal damage

A phone pole behind a home in the 2900 block of 77th Court was reported tagged with graffiti on July 24.
