LoungeBuddy iOS App Shutting Down
LoungeBuddy is a travel service that lists airport lounges around the world. It has an website and iOS mobile app which let you by airport or city to find airport lounges for your next airport visit.
The LoungeBuddy app can also help you find lounges that are available to you, if you provide information about cards and memberships that you have. However, LoungeBuddy lets you purchase day passes for lounges that you don’t have access to.
Now the website states that the app with shut down next month:
“As of July 1, 2024, the LoungeBuddy iOS Mobile app will no longer be accessible. American Express Card Members can still purchase lounge access with LoungeBuddy through the LoungeBuddy website.”
LoungeBuddy is owned by American Express, which acquired the service back in 2019. The Amex Green card even offers a $100 LoungeBuddy credit.
Maybe we’ll see more LoungeBuddy features incorporated into the Amex app?
