Longmeadow Police locate missing 11-year-old boy

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – The Longmeadow Police Department helped to locate a missing 11-year-old boy who ran away from home on Saturday.
According to Longmeadow Police Chief Stocks, a mother reported that her 11-year-old son had run away from home around 9:41 a.m. Their home is located in the south section of Longmeadow.
Officers began to search for the boy and activated an emergency response to expedite the search. K-9 Units, Massachusetts State Police Troopers, and the Longmeadow Fire Department all assisted with the search. Drones were used and the police K-9s performed a ground search.
A BOLO was issued for residents that were in proximity to the search and at approximately 12:05 p.m., an alert passerby reported seeing a young boy matching the description of the missing child one mile south on Route 5 in Enfield, Connecticut.
The boy was identified as the missing person and was returned home safely.
