Little rain in sight as drought conditions worsen in Illinois and Indiana

For Illinois: Area of “abnormally dry” grew 1.3 times compared to a week ago. Area of “moderate drought” grew by 3.6 times
For Indiana: Area of “moderate drought” is nearly 3 times greater compared to a week ago.

In Chicago, the paltry 0.04” tally ranks as the 15th driest September open in the past 154 years! Only three years ago in 2021 we had 0.01” for the same period.

Little if any rain is expected over the coming week, drought conditions will only get worse before they get better.
