Last minute food shopping for Easter
[ad_1]
Mass. (WWLP) – Easter is Sunday and many people will be doing some last minute shopping for their holiday meal. 22News has what you need to know if you’re a last minute shopper.
Gregory Bernat, the owner of Bernat’s Polish Deli told 22News, “It’s been a pretty wild week to say the least.”
Easter Sunday is almost here and many Americans are heading to the stores to get that last minute shopping in. Easter is a holiday that is often associated with church, friend and family gatherings and food.
The owner of Bernat’s in Chicopee says that people have been in and out of the deli to get their Easter meal.
Gregory Bernat added, “A lot of customers Friday and the day before but Saturday morning as well as you can see by the amount of cars here, we haven’t run out of too much of anything. We still have a pretty good stock of our bobca bread and kielbasa, those are our main sellers this time a year.”
According to Bernat, cake and sweet bread are some other popular food items for Easter.
Dennis from Longmeadow says he looks forward to his polish dinner tomorrow.
Dennis Kolodziejski said, “I got about three pounds of fresh kielbasa, three dozen and some, so lots of good stuff for us to eat tomorrow.”
So if you did not make a trip to the grocery store or deli yet, now’s the time because some items could sell out and most stores will be closed or operating on limited hours for the holiday.
Some stores that will be open for Easter are Stop & Shop which will be open from 7:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. CVS and Trader Joe’s will be open but hours may vary depending on the location.
Big Y stores will be closed on Easter Sunday along with ALDI, Costco and Target.
So you may want to try to get that shopping out of the way as soon as possible so you can avoid the hassle in stores.
