Large fight disrupts HighSchoolOT Jamboree, Wake Forest High School cancels remaining games

A large fight on Saturday caused the 2024 High SchoolOT Jamboree games at Wake Forest High School to be cut short due to safety concerns.
Wake Forest High School officials decided to stop the games after the fight, which reportedly took place near a concession stand at Trentini Stadium.
After the fight, the game announcer informed the crowd that people were being asked to leave the stadium.
“And I believe I just heard the PA announcer say that the entire stadium has to be cleared,” the announcer said. “They have just said, and I’ll quote, ‘The event has been concluded due to safety concerns.'”
The Vance County Vipers were about to kick off against Wake Forest when the incident happened.
WRAL news spoke with a man who was there and witnessed the fights.
“It was a lot of disappointment, i think the parents and the adults outside kind of recognized, it was kids being, unfortunately, kids, and not doing the right thing to cause this unnecessary situation,” Anotnio Bryan said.
HighSchoolOT reported that Jordan, Vance County, Millbrook, Cardinal Gibbons, Wake Forest, Rolesville, and Southern Durham were participating schools scheduled to play.
A town spokesperson has confirmed that a fight took place but does not have details on the number of individuals involved.
WRAL News is investigating whether anyone was seriously injured in the fight, though it has been confirmed that no firearms were used.
There have been no reports of arrests at this time.
