The Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia joined King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the King’s Accession to the Spanish Throne at the Royal Palace of Madrid on June 19th.
In the morning, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia were joined by the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia on a Balcony of the Royal Palace of Madrid overlooking the the Patio de la Armería as they viewed the changing of the Royal Guard.

King Felipe presented the Order of Civil Merit to nineteen citizens, in recognition of those who carry out their life and ordinary professional work in an exemplary manner, at the service of society, which was followed by a Speech.

Afterwards, the Royal Family hosted a Luncheon to mark the 10th Anniversary of the King’s Accession, which included members of the Government and Dignitaries in addition to the newly invested members of the Order of Civil Merit. In addition to the King, the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia gave a speech.
In the evening, the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofía visited the Gallery of the Royal Collections accompanied by 40 young people who had participated in some edition of the contest ‘What is a King for you?’.
The Royal Guard gave a concert in the Plaza de Oriente while violinist Ara Malikian played from one of the balconies of the Royal Palace while a Telefónica video was projected on the facade of the Royal Palace.
